Marjorie is a classically trained pilates instructor with a specialized certification in the instruction of individuals with scoliosis and Muscle Energy Technique. She is a former gymnast and has taught pilates professionally since 2006. Her training has been with Power Pilates, The Center for Movement, and re:AB Pilates. She has studied with master teachers Madeline Black, Bob Liekens, Brooke Siler, Sonje Mayo, and Kathi Ross-Nash.
Before opening The Pilates Salon in 2008 she taught in Manhattan at David Barton Gym, New York Health and Racquet Club, and Ludlow Fitness. She has experience training many different body types including pre and post-natal clients, individuals with knee and back injuries and clients over 70 years of age.
Her article Rebounding in the Fitness Spotlight was published in the January 2016 issue of Holistic Resource. Additionally, Holistic Resource published her article The Phenomenal Barre Class in April 2013 and her article What is Pilates? in June 2009.
Julia is a certified Peak Pilates Level 1 and BarreAmped Level 1 and 2 instructor. She is excited to share her passion for pilates and barre with The Pilates Salon clients. She wants everyone to experience the positive lifestyle changes she has experienced since beginning Pilates and barre. Kaitlin was first introduced to Pilates with her dance training in New York City. She grew to love Pilates and its incredible results after it helped her recover from an accumulation of injuries. Wanting to assist others with wellness, strength, bodily awareness and injury prevention, she began her teaching certification through Body Arts and Science International (BASI) in Brooklyn, New York at the beginning of 2019. She plans on enhancing her Pilates education this fall, through the BASI Graduate Program. She is very excited to share everything Pilates has given her, at The Pilates Salon!
